From December 11th, 2015 to January 30th, 2016 Kai Lin Art hosted Alchemy – a solo exhibition by Elliston Roshi in our main gallery.

ALCHEMY Kai Lin Art Gallery
December 2015 – January 2016

In his first solo exhibition at Kai Lin Art, Zen Buddhist Sensei Elliston Roshi creates a dynamic and transformative body of artworks through sumi ink on glass and gesso panel. Alchemy is defined as the medieval forerunner of chemistry based on the supposed transformation of matter.   With his command of materials, Roshi explores emotion and mysticism through the organic behavior of his medium and allows abstracted images to materialize through the natural processes of pigment, movement and water.  These pieces are what Roshi sees as “music for the eyes”.


I first began showing with the Kai Lin Art Gallery (visit when it was located in Buckhead on the near north side of Atlanta . Yukai Lin, the owner, has featured my work in shows and by appointment several times a year over the decade or so ever since.

We have also mounted long-running satellite exhibitions at the Ponce City Market Collective, the Gallery Buckhead Condo, and various shorter-term shows around the city. Additionally, I have had shows in Jacksonville, Florida and Oxford, Mississippi, and I am seeking new galleries for my work outside of Georgia.
